Curriculum Ideas

I don't have any children, but I one day want to adopt or have a child.  In preparation for that day, I look over curriculum and try to decide what I would like to use for my future child or children. :D  I have always had this dream to adopt and to be a stay at home teacher and mother to my children.  Is this a silly dream?  I don't know.  I am 36 years old and do not have even a boyfriend, so I don't think I will be able to have blood related children, but there are so many children in this world that need a mother.  so, one day right?  lol

I really think I would be an eclectic teacher.  I would use a variety of Waldorf, CM, Classical, Unit Studies.  I would have the Bible integrated into everything, because G-d is the source of all.

  1. I know this is an older post, but I just became your friend on Goodreads and wanted to learn a little about you, so I visited your blog.

No it is not a silly dream. You are correct that there are so many children who need a good mother, and you sound as if you will be a good one.

Homeschooling is great! I love how my children are growing up one by one. It was a huge risk, but the results are starting to come in now and we are so very pleased.

As far as curriculum goes, I have found that A Beka is so good in the lower grades and their grammar is unsurpassed on all levels.

Follow your dreams and start preparing to find that child--or children. Our friends at church have learned that the wait to adopt is shorter if you are willing to take sibling groups--and two counts as a group. Sibling groups are considered special needs, so parents are much needed for these children. One family went from one child to three to six in just two years! And the children are all pretty young and are so sweet and amazing. As tiny as they are, they are all so grateful to have a family that loves them and a church family to love and help watch over them.

I hope that you find your dreams. You sound so nice.
