I Hold Him Up
By: Michelle Federowicz
His heart is covered by a bullet proof vestMine is fully exposedAside from my fists I have no weapons to fight back withI am exposed to the darkness through his eyesLate night phone calls take my breathe away and make my heart pound outof my chestHe wears every momentI share every momentI will not pretend to know the pain he holds insideI hold him upMy arms are up to the task no matter how heavy he becomesI have watched him drown his sorrowsNumb the painIt is so hardWhen he falls, I pick him upAt times he is heavier than othersMy arms at times have grown tired but I continue to hold him upI am in love with a cop
